National Simp Alert Level ELEVATED
Advisory No.
AD-2026-002
Issued
January 6, 2026
In response to
the onset of cuffing season
Status
In Effect

The Institute for Applied Dignity is raising the national Simp Alert Level to ELEVATED for the duration of cuffing season. Field offices report a seasonal surge in pairings formed for warmth, holiday cover, and the avoidance of a solo arrival at the office party.

I. The Conditions

Cold weather concentrates a person indoors with whoever is available. A shared blanket is a thermostat setting. A standing invitation through December is a logistics arrangement. The Institute has documented subjects converting all three into a projected spring before the decorations came down.

II. The Mechanism

Scarcity is reliably reclassified as chemistry. The subject mistakes "available in January" for "compatible," and "did not want to be alone for the holidays" for "chose me." The conviction feels strongest at the exact point the calendar is doing the work.

III. Standing Guidance

Warmth is not the same as wanting. Citizens are advised to audit any conviction acquired after the first frost, and to note that a partner acquired for the season is scheduled, by the season, for release. The advisory remains in effect until the weather turns.

IAD Field Data

IAD Seasonal Data: 71% of cuffing-season pairings did not survive the first warm weekend. The remaining 29% were not reachable for follow-up; they had gone outside.
