What We Collect

StopSimping.org uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics. This means we can see aggregate information about how people use the site (which pages are visited, which tools are used, how far through the assessment people get before they close the tab), but not who you are.

Data collected includes:

  • Page views and navigation paths: which pages you visit and in what order
  • Interaction events: assessment started, assessment completed, tool used
  • Browser and device type: desktop vs. mobile, browser name, screen width
  • General geographic region: country and approximate region only, not precise location
  • Referrer: how you arrived (search, direct link, social media)

Data not collected:

  • Your name, email address, or any contact information
  • The contents of anything you type into the Signal Debunker or Form SS-404
  • Your assessment answers or score result
  • Any information that identifies you as a specific person

We know you used the Signal Debunker. We do not know what signal you entered. The Institute is not reading it. The Institute does not need to. The pattern is already documented.

Cookies and Local Storage

PostHog stores an anonymous session identifier in your browser's local storage to track a single session without linking it to your identity. This identifier does not contain personal information and is not shared with third parties.

No advertising cookies are set. No tracking pixels are used. No data is sold to third parties. The Institute has no monetization strategy involving your behavioral data, partly as a matter of principle and partly because the Institute's funding model is "common sense and mild frustration," as noted in the footer.

Third Parties

The following third-party services are in use on this site:

Service Purpose Data Shared
PostHog (us.posthog.com) Anonymous analytics Page events, device type, region
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) Typography Your IP address is sent to Google when fonts load. We are evaluating self-hosting as an alternative.
Cloudflare Hosting and CDN Standard server logs (IP, request, timestamp). Cloudflare's privacy policy applies.

No social media tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no data brokers, no remarketing lists. The Institute does not believe in following you around the internet. That behavior is documented in the Registry under NSR-03.

Your Options

To opt out of PostHog analytics, you can use any standard ad blocker or tracker blocker (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc.). PostHog is also blocked by most privacy-focused browsers in their default or strict tracking protection modes.

The site functions completely without analytics. Nothing breaks, nothing is gated. The Institute can live without knowing how many people scrolled past the glossary.

Questions

Privacy-related inquiries can be directed to Agency Staff at [email protected]. The Institute will respond in a reasonable time frame, which is defined as before the pattern gets worse.

This policy was last reviewed in June 2026. Material changes will be noted here with an updated review date.

StopSimping.org is not a medical provider, legal authority, or substitute for one honest conversation with yourself. The Institute collects only what is necessary to understand how the site is used and improve it accordingly. That is the whole thing.
