The Institute for Applied Dignity is lowering the national Simp Alert Level to GUARDED with the arrival of spring, and issues this advisory regarding the seasonal expiration of pairings formed during cuffing season.
I. The Conditions
Outdoor activities resume and one party’s calendar fills. The structural intimacy of a cold apartment evaporates with the weather. Contact that was daily in February becomes "so busy lately" by April.
II. The Mechanism
The subject interprets the cooling as a problem to be solved rather than a season ending on schedule. The increased effort to "fix it" accelerates exactly what it intends to prevent.
III. Standing Guidance
A relationship that thaws in April was, by definition, seasonal. The Institute issues no recovery instruction beyond the observation that the bench is now open and the roster is being revised for summer.
IAD Seasonal Data: 64% of April "where did this go" inquiries concerned a pairing explicitly labeled "just casual for now" in January. The label was accurate. The reading was not.
